Christian Fellowship

There's a lot of hum in the Christian community about the effect the Web has on ministries.

There is a thing to be said for this kind of Christian witnessing.

It certainly is helpful to be in a position to talk to folks thousands of miles away, passing on the news of Jesus without even having to leave your own house. Christianity, you see, isn't simply about evangelizing a set of doctrines.

It is about Christian fellowship joining with fellow adherents of a righteous community devoted to spreading Christian values. As an element of a Christian Baptist Fellowship group, I recognize that the most vital relationship is between the worshiper and God. No Christian Fellowship can make up for not having accepted Jesus, and if you do except for the Lord you'll be saved even if you do not spend any time with fellow Christians. You will not be doing much to spread the news of God. You see, we've been a community since the start of our faith, and we were planned to be a community. The web is great for speaking, but it is no use for maintaining real Christian Fellowships. Even a modern church should not only use modern techniques of Christian fellowship. Because the new techniques of evangelizing help reach the more youthful generation doesn't suggest the old tactics should be dropped.

You can worship Jesus from before your personal computer, but you must also worship him with other followers. For some, Christian Fellowship may begin with the web, but it can't end with the Net. Christian ministries need to spread the news of God in the particular world, and followers need a community around them to help them keep true to God's trail. Only in that way can we make certain a church stays robust and true to its beliefs. On your own, it is really easy to evangelise one thing and do another. With fellow followers you are rather more likely to be held responsible for your actions.
